When was the national reclamation act

The act created a Reclamation Service with the technical expertise to construct monumental water projects to irrigate the West, and established a Reclamation Fund to finance these expensive ventures. The act set aside money from sales of semi-arid public lands for the construction and maintenance of irrigation projects. The purpose is to sell newly irrigated land and put money into a revolving fund that supported similar projects.

After the conservationists succeeded in protecting forests and parks, people of the Progressive Era were enlightened with the new knowledge of natural resources, understanding that they are limited and will run out one day if humans are not careful.

This understanding of resources has remained and today's society knows the importance of the preservation of natural resources. It managed the amount of water flowing through the Salt River Valley while providing energy for the valley. Roosevelt continued to be an influential figure in the development and preservation of national parks.
